"HE CARETH FOR YOU"

A. "CASTING ALL YOUR CARE UPON HIM: FOR HE CARETH FOR YOU." - 1 Pet. 5:7
  1. There are several such statements in the word of God:
    1. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." - Matt. 11:28
    2. "Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust." - Ps. 103:13, 14
  2. What a condescension by God:
    1. That He, who fills the universe, should take notice of us, who are but dust!
    2. But He does, and He manifests His love in a thousand ways.
B. "CASTING ALL YOUR CARE UPON HIM: FOR HE CARETH FOR YOU."
  1. Our cares, they are many:
    1. We think of the burdensome sense of our parental responsibility.
    2. And there is, at times, mental suffering and grief.
    3. There is much anxiety lest we should run in vain.
  2. Implication of the word CARE:
    1. It implies anxious thought, often caused by interest or concern. EXAMPLES -

      2. Failing health and other infirmities are among the cares that burden the human race.
    2. Our Lord realizes the possible harm that cares will cause to body and soul, that is why He invites us to cast all our cares upon Him.
  3. What makes "Care" so dangerous is:
    1. That in many instances it borders on worry.
    2. And worry is a manifestation of a lack of faith in God's providence.
    3. Children who trust their parents do not worry, they leave that to their parents.
C. "CASTING ALL YOUR CARES UPON HIM; FOR HE CARETH FOR YOU."
  1. What a unique privilege belongs to all for whom Christ died! "Casting all your cares upon him":
    1. That means that we are invited to free our mind, our soul, from the many worries, anxieties, that plague this mortal life.
    2. That we can cast all of them upon the Lord!
    3. That means that there is no need for any one of us to allow the cares of this life to wear us out, to break us down, and to send us to an untimely death.
  2. Loved ones:
    1. Can you in the hour of great sorrow trust a loving Saviour, and leave your burden with Him, "for He careth for you."
    2. Listen to the prophet Isaiah, "In all their affliction he was afflicted" - Isa. 63:9
    3. "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows" - Isa. 53:4
    4. Of Him John writes, that when he stood at the tomb of His friend Lazarus, "Jesus wept." - John 11:35

    2. Cares for us in sickness, in sorrow, and even when we pass through the shadow of death.
  4. But there is still another meaning to the word CARE:

      1. The second coming of Jesus Christ.
      2. The resurrection of the dead.
      3. The reunion of loved ones - Jer. 31:17-19 What more can He do for us!
