JESUS CHRIST IS THE ANSWER

JOHN 14:6

A. "JESUS SAITH UNTO HIM, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE; NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME" 1. This present life is beset with problems and difficulties from the cradle to the grave:
  1. Said Job, "Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and if full of trouble" - Job 14:1
  2. Says the preacher, "For all his days are sorrow, and his travail grief" - Eccl. 2:23
  • It is normal for man to seek comfort:
    1. In the time of trouble
    2. And in the hour of sorrow B. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ANSWER
  • Are you weary, are you heavy hearted?
    1. Tell it to Jesus; Examples - The woman of Canaan did and she got results - Matt. 15:22-28; the Centurion did and he got results - Matt. 8:5-10; Martha and Mary told of their grief to Jesus and they got results - John 11:20-41
    2. He gives a compassionate invitation to all that labor and are heavy laden, to come to Him, all He will give them rest - Matt. 11:28-30
  • Are you concerned about your sins, and we all ought to be:
    1. Jesus is the answer, "Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall same His people from their sins" - Matt. 1:21
    2. For there is no other name under heaven given unto man, whereby we must be saved - Acts 4:12
  • Are you concerned about the judgment to come, and we all ought to be concerned - Acts 24:25; 2 Cor. 5:10; Jesus is the answer; "For there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus" - Rom. 8:1; John 5:24
  • Are you concerned about the here-after? and we all ought to be concerned about the here-after!
    1. Nebuchadnezzar was and so was Belshazzar - Dan. 2:28-29; 5:5-7
    2. Writes Paul, "And as it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment" - Heb. 9:27 C. JESUS CHRIST IS THE ANSWER - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
  • Past;
    1. Whatever my past may be, Christ is the Answer - He created me - John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-17; Eph. 3:9; Heb. 1:1-3; He redeemed me by dying for me on the cross of Calvary; that takes care of my past - Is. 41:14; 43:14; 49:26
    2. What about my passed sins? Writes Isaiah, "Thou hast cast all my sins behind Thy back" - Is. 38:17
    3. The Lord assures the penitent sinner, "I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions and as a cloud thy sins; return unto Me; for I have redeemed thee." - Is. 44:22
    4. Writes Paul, "If any man be in Christ Jesus, he is a new creature; all things have passed away, all things have become new." - 2 Cor. 5:17
  • Present:
    1. Are you concerned about your present relationship to God? and we all ought to be- Jesus makes the difference - Rom. 8:31-37
    2. Are you concerned what will happen to you since your life companion has been taken from you be death? and this is not an easy matter. Jesus Christ is the answer - "Lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" - Matt. 28:20
    3. Do you need guidance to meet the problems of life? and we all do - Is. 53:6; Prov. 16:1, 25; Is. 55:7-9
    4. Said the Lord to the Psalmist, "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye." Ps. 32:8
  • Future: Are you concerned about the future, and we all must be concerned:
    1. Jesus is the answer even for your future "Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever" - Heb. 13:8
    2. He assures through the prophet Isaiah, "I will not forsake thee" - Is. 41:17
    3. The future for God's children is as bright as His promises
  • The words of Christ, spoken to Philip sum up the truth - Christ is the answer to every problem, every grief, every bereavement - "I am the way, the truth and the life" - John 14:6
