GOD'S LIFE INSURANCE POLICY
A. "BUT MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEED ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES
IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS."
- This glorious promise by God should put to rest the fainthearted: it should set them at ease about their security: Matt. 6:31-34
- It is a gracious assurance by God that He knows our every need and will, in due time, supply it: 2 Thess. 3:3; Heb. 10:23
B. GOD'S LIFE INSURANCE POLICY
- The promissory note:
- "My God shall supply all your need."
- Note, please, God does not promise to supply all our wishes, but all our needs - Ps. 23:1; Luke 22:35
- Our need is manifold:
- Temporal needs. "Give us this day our daily bread" - Matt. 6:11
- Clothing. "Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field . . . shall he not much more clothe you." Matt. 6:30
- Physical strength. ". . . as thy days, so shall thy strength be" - Deut. 33:25
- Our spiritual needs:
- We need grace to walk with God every day - Heb. 4:15, 16
- Peter enumerates the blessings of grace - 2 Pet. 1:2-8
- "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." Eph. 3:20
- There is, therefore, no need for any one of God's children to be in want of grace to live and walk in the Spirit - Gal. 5:16
- If we do lack the grace of God in our lives, it is because we are out of the proper relationship with God; we do not have the connections we must have to receive help in time of need.
C. THE SOURCE AND MEDIUM OF OUR NEED
- The Source: "My God"
- "The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." Ps. 24:1
- "The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts." Hag. 2:8
- He gives for the asking: Matt. 7:7; Jas. 4:2
- He gives without partiality: Jas. 1:5; Mark 11:24; Luke 11:9. How wonderful it is to be connected with a God of love and compassion.
- The medium of the supply: "By Christ Jesus"
- Christ, our Lord, is the heaven chosen channel through whom all our needs are supplied.
- "Without me, ye can do nothing" - John 15:5
- Heb. 2:13; Acts 17:28
- By the word of His promise - Heb. 6:16-20
- If we have Christ, we have all we need physically and spiritually, in this present world and in the world to come:
- The measure of supply: "all our needs"
- All that pertains to life and godliness - 2 Pet. 1:3
- His gifts to ancient Israel are a typical example - Ex. 16:4-28
- "As thy days so shall thy strength be" - Deut. 33:25
- In view of these glorious truths, there is no reason for any one of God's children to be concerned about his needs; the Creator and the Redeemer know our needs better than we do, and they will, according to God's promise, supply our every need:
- We are well advised to heed the admonition of Peter: "Humble yourselves, therefore under the mighty hand of God . . . casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." - 1 Pet. 5:6, 7
