THE POLARITY OF JESUS

MATTHEW 11:2

A. "COME UNTO ME"
  1. Take away the single word "come" out of the teaching of Jesus Christ, and see how the pages of the gospel are pauperized:
    1. The disciples will no longer leave their net - Matt. 4:18-22
    2. Peter will not venture to meet his Lord, walking on the sea - Matt. 14:28-30
  2. Take away that single word "come" out of God's promises:
    1. And the heavy laden will perish under the increasing burdens of life - Matt. 11:28-30
    2. The lost in sin will die in sin - Matt. 1:21
    3. Without that word "come" coming from the lips of Jesus there can be no access to the kingdom of His heavenly Father - Matt. 25:34-46 B. THE MAGNITUDE OF THAT SINGLE WORD "COME"
  3. It is authoritative:
    1. It is vested with the power of the universe - Matt. 28:18
    2. It is dependable in the highest degree - Matt. 24:35
    3. It is unchangeable - Heb. 13:8
    4. It takes on polarity - it includes all men in all ages
  4. It is saving:
    1. The Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world - John 1:29
    2. Gives life everlasting - John 5:40; 1:12-13
    3. It is the heart of the gospel invitation of heaven to sinners - Matt. 11:28-30
    4. It is the answer to every human problem and there are many - I Peter 5:6-7
    5. It is our passport to God's eternal kingdom - Matt. 25:34-48
  5. Of special significance to all gospel workers to the church of the living God is that single word of Christ in all ages:
    1. It gives authority to our efforts to persuade sinners to come to the Lord Jesus - Rev. 22:17
    2. It combines the gospel commission to Go with the gospel invitation to Come - Matt. 28:18-20
    3. It places the will and the power of Jesus behind our humble efforts to bring souls to Christ C. A PRAYERFUL LOOK INTO THE INCLUSIVENESS OF THAT SINGLE WORK OF JESUS "COME" GIVES A NEW CONCEPT OF GOD'S LOVE TO HUMANITY
  6. It is heaven's inspired commentary to John 3:16
    1. It expresses God's motive of His love - John 3:15-17
    2. It is Heaven's assurance to all regardless of race, color or creed - Gal. 3:26-29
    3. It is the divine expression of God's thoughts - Is. 55:7-8
  7. What would a sinful and judgment bound world do without that single word of Jesus "Come":
    1. What would you and I do with life's burdens?
    2. What would you and I do with our sins?
    3. What would we do with all our heartaches?
    4. What would we do when our case has to be mediated before God? - I Tim. 2:5
  8. That single word of Jesus "Come" is heaven's key:
    1. That opens the prison of sin and releases the prisoners - Is. 61:1
    2. That gives access to the water of life - Rev. 22:17; John 7:37-38
    3. That will open the gate into the New Jerusalem - Rev. 22:14
    4. That invites us to come and eat of the tree of life after about six thousand years of being inaccessible to the human race - Rev. 2:7
  9. Dear reader:
    1. Have you heard that single word of Jesus and have you become familiar with its polarity?
    2. Have you echoed it to others who are in need of what it has to offer to a lost world
    3. How much has it influenced your life?
    4. Has it become the dynamo of your thoughts, words, and actions
